It doesn't get better than this......our yard is a little sun trap so when it comes out we bask in all it's glory. What a fabulous way to spend the afternoon - circle time, reading one of our favourite stories and to round it off and game of 'Duck, Duck, Goose'! And to finish......

This week some of us have been working on procedural writing. Typical examples of procedural writing includes recipes, science experiments, assembly manuals or instructions for playing games. We made a cheese sandwich and wrote out the steps we had to follow to prepare it. We have also been doing some grammar - working on capital letters and learning about when we need to use them.
And we started where we left off.......cooking! This week we tried our hand at crispy chicken tenders. Buttermilk, smashed cornflakes, tiny bit of spice and of course enjoying the fruits of our labour! I didn't even get the chance to take a photo - gonezo before I could even get the phone out!
Third cycling champ in the making here! Think myself and Romy will have to quit teaching and focus on our coaching careers instead! Absolutely thrilled with this dude and can't wait to have all three of my boys doing laps of the daily mile. So so proud of you A! We can't put into words how happy we all were coming back to school after such a long break. It was amazing to see each other, get back into our classroom, meet new friends and not be in the house! Plus we had savage weather and the whole school to ourselves!! Here are some pictures of our first day back. I knew this guy would do it!! Next stage is the daily mile track. This week we have been learning about shapes, time and data. We used tangrams to learn about shape names and their sides, story and pictures to learn how they can be represented as data and the months of the year to sequence in order. Here are some photos of us learning about each topic during our group work sessions.
It's taken a little time and a bit of encouragement but we are getting there! Absolutely loving the energy, effort and perseverance this little person has put in. We are all so proud of the progress. This time next week I'm confident I'll be posting a new video showing even more determination, gusto and bravery. To finish off our theme of Halloween we played some of the traditional games associated with the festival. We played apple bobbing and snap apple. We had some laugh! This fella got more enjoyment out of messing with in the water rather than trying to bite the apple! Snap apple...... even Romy got involved! This month as part of our history curriculum, my 4th class have been learning about Feasts and Festivals - specifically Halloween. It's been a busy month, which has resulted in a compilation of learning and photos I have to share this week! Some of my class are not 4th class but they still loved learning all about it. We made spider webs..... We picked our own pumpkin ...... And cut out our final design! We also made skeletons and pumpkins, learned a Halloween poem and wrote words associated with the festival.
